Corporate Credit Card - Basic Overview

The Corporate Credit Card was ascertained as an unconventional purchasing and expense mechanism to advance payment performance, simplify clerical processes, and provide more valuable currency management and in many cases better service delivery.

There is a two main components for Corporate Credit Card system:

1.Creditcards and credit proficiency supplied by designated credit supplier; and

Basic terms :

ATM - refers to Automatic Teller Machine.

PIN - refers to the Personal Identification Number supplied to new Cardholders by the credit provider. The PIN enables the Cardholder to access the credit card balance at an ATM.

Cardholder - refers to the employee associate whose name appears on the corporate credit card

Card Supervisor - refers to the employee associate assigned to a corporate credit card to perform the online accounting process, follow up as essential and filing of completed statement settlement.

Corporate Card Controller - refers to the employee associate in the Finance who manages the credit card system

Line Manager - refers to the employee associate with budgetary control over the cost centre allocated to a corporate credit card.

GST - refers to Goods and Services tax.

FBT - refers to Fringe Benefits Tax. Fringe Benefits Tax may be applicable to expenses paid by Corporate Credit Card. Cardholders are required to note on the reconciliation the number of staff and the number of non-staff attending any function regarded as entertainment.

Private Expense - The procure of hand-outs, food and related items in relation to non-business activities, such as party celebration and the like is a private expense which, if undertaken, should be covered by way of voluntary donations.

Terms and Conditions

  • American Express® / Business ExtrAA® Corporate Card Rebate: Rebate is earned on base published flown airfare only (does not include taxes, discounts, surcharges and fees) and is sent quarterly to clients via electronic funds transfer or checks. Passengers must fly in order to earn rebate. To qualify, flights taken must be both marketed and operated by American Airlines, American Eagle® or American Connection® carriers (codeshare flights do not apply) and for which American Airlines appears as the merchant of record on the Cardmember billing statement. Clients are eligible to earn rebates only on the first $1,000,000 of such eligible flown revenue in a calendar year and purchased using the Card. Rebate will be 4% if company does not have an American Airlines negotiated discount program and does not book travel using a travel agency discount program. Rebate will be 1% if company has an American Airlines negotiated discount program or books travel using a travel agency discount program.

  • All American Express® / Business ExtrAA® Corporate Card accounts are enrolled automatically in the American Airlines Business ExtrAA Program in accordance with the terms and conditions applicable for Business ExtrAA, which appear at Terms Conditions. Clients will receive points on all spend with the exception of cash advances, fees, American Express® Corporate Travelers Cheque encashments, and delinquency assessments.

  • Savings at WorkSM: To receive the savings, all purchases made through the Savings at WorkSM program must be charged to an American Express® / Business ExtrAA® Corporate Card program. In order for clients to receive a rebate for a specific charge, the participating partner must be shown as the merchant of record on the American Express® / Business ExtrAA® Corporate Card statement issued during the offer period. Offers from Partners are subject to the Partners’ terms and conditions. A report of client spend will be provided to participating partners for the purposes of calculating and ubstantiating rebates. Clients can choose to opt out of the program and the provision of the rebates and benefits associated with the program by calling 877-207-1098. American Express reserves the right to amend, alter, or terminate the program, participation and offer in its sole discretion at any time without notice. Program is subject to change. To receive rebates, Business ExtrAA® points and Savings at WorkSM benefits, charges must be made to a qualifying American Express® /Business ExtrAA® Corporate card account in good standing for the rebate qualification, accrual, and payment periods.

American Airlines may amend, alter, or terminate the Business ExtrAA® program in its sole discretion without notice.
